This year’s showcase offered visitors a rare glimpse into Balenciaga’s artistic legacy through a curated selection of designs by Christóbal Balenciaga and Demna. Presented as art objects, these iconic creations were displayed on custom-made Pierre Imans mannequins crafted specifically for the occasion.
The exhibition encompassed pieces from Balenciaga’s extensive archives, including Cristóbal Balenciaga’s pioneering early 20th-century works and Demna’s innovative contemporary collections in both ready-to-wear and couture. Each piece highlighted the enduring influence of Balenciaga’s distinct aesthetic and the lasting impact the House continues to have on fashion worldwide.
For this exhibition, we had the privilege of collaborating closely with the Balenciaga team to create mannequins as unique as each garment displayed. Each mannequin was handcrafted specifically for its respective piece, designed to reinforce the artistry of the fashion item itself. To ensure the focus remained entirely on the garments, we refined the mannequins’ lines and painted them in subdued tones, allowing them to “disappear” and let Balenciaga’s creations take center stage. It was a pleasure to contribute to such a visionary project, and we are honored to support Balenciaga in presenting this exquisite fusion of heritage and modernity.
